Background

Colnbrook village is located to the South East of Slough as is the nearby village of Poyle. The combined population of Colnbrook and Poyle is about 5426 with Colnbrook being primarily residential with agriculture and Poyle dominated by its large industrial estate. Significant features include the RMC Aggregates quarry off of Park Street, the Grundon Waste Management incinerator & adjacent cement works off of Lukeside Road and a sewage farm. Overall land use is predominantly farm land, scrub land, residential, and industrial with significant bodies of water to the North East. Two significant waterways wend their way through the area, the Colne Brook and Poyle Channel which then join and continue to Wraysbury and Hythe End. The predominant geology of the area is Chalk, London Clay and gravel.

Communnity Crime Fighters 2010

Colnbrook with Poyle Parish Council has been actively involved with Slough Borough Council and the Community Crime Fighters scheme which was inaugurated as a result of the Casey Review – reported back to the government in June 2008.
